Mid Spring Argument Ridge

Argument Ridge Rd 218 to 213
Caribou National Forest
Palisades Ranger District

This ride was the first to the top so far this year.
The trail is still pretty muddy and their is allot of run off. But we all know that just makes for a good time for some of us. Unfortunately we ran out of day light before two of our friends could make it to the top, They have both since been to the top.

The trail it's self is considered a jeep road. But in early spring when most of the single tracks have still got trees and DEEP SNOW in the trail it's hard to beet this place. Their is another way to the top witch i have done before just not this year. The way is up Burns Creek Trail # 068 To Coal Mine Canyon Trail # 004 this way can also be done after work but it's much longer and allot harder. In fact this can be a great loop if you have time Trail # 004 Coal Mine Canyon ends at Road # 213. But be aware THIS IS NOT A FOUR WHEELER LOOP. I wish it were and it almost is, but their is a small section of the trail that to date is still impassable sorry guys. One more word of caution if time might be a factor and rider skill level. I would recommend doing this loop going up Burns to Coal Mine and then come down Hell Hole canyon Road #213 to 218 The trail is i think a little easier this way and if it gets dark on ya it is ten times easier to go down Hell Hole. Argument Ridge can be a great after work ride

Black Tail Look Out

Black Tail Look Out OHV Road # 990 and ATV Trail
Caribou-Targhee National Forest
Palisades Ranger District

Black Tail Look Out man this was cool. I could not believe it when i got their. You Travel up and up out of the valley threw tons of trees and then suddenly WHAM O your on top. This is a great place to take beginners or four wheelers if your riding in fall creek.

This was my first time up here. So we kind of stumbled upon it. The map shows the road and even shows look out point with the elevation ( 7460 ) but we had no idea you could go right to the top so easy. We were just out riding after work looking for new ground. We came up here from Prichard Creek and then followed Black Tail Road Down back to Fall Creek Road

( skyline rd ) I would suggest this ride to just about any body Prichard Creek is aw some but it is a tight single track. Not recommended for beginners. If you do have beginners or four wheelers. Just head up sky line road until you come to Black Tail Road # 990 It's marked and it will take you right to the top. Beware this is a short ride but worth it. So please tread lightly and be prepared

Prichard Creek Trail

Prichard Creek Trail # 027 Motorcycle
Caribou-Targhee National Forest
Palisades Ranger District

Prichard Creek is a nice tight single track. That follows Prichard creek almost all the way up the trail. With a couple of creek crossings and mountain views that just don't quit. I'm making it a point to come back.

Prichard Creek is located in the Fall Creek area. IT is less than an hours drive from Idaho Falls. This means if you get off work at five o'clock and you don't dilly dally around you can easily make this ride. To find the trail head go to Fall Creek Road take fall creek until you come to sky line road It is the first road you come to. Then turn the only way you can on sky line and park in the first nice big spot you see. Then from their the trail head is just a short i mean short road ride up sky line road. Then you take the first trail you come to that goes west. Trail # 23 Jim Hill Trail. From Their it takes you right to Prichard.

This was a great after work ride for us. All of Fall Creek Seems to be a great place to ride. I only have Two rides up here but i can't wait to do more. Please beware and take a map Prichard Creek i would not recommend for a beginner it's just a little to hairy for a newby. So with that have fun be care full and be prepared.
